Interesting From 1920's to 1930's, the increasing numbers of US States decided that Deaf driver should not receive a license. Many Deaf protesters with the NAD fought against it. Supt. Bijorlee of the Maryland School for the Deaf strongly opposed the State decision by showing the statistic papers to the state political leaders. It states that the number of car accidents by Deaf drivers was much lower than hearing drivers. I believe after World War II, all US States reversed their decision by allowing Deaf drivers get their licenses. . I thought that the Deaf driver 's license crisis has been forgetten. However I am wrong Some hearing people still believe that Deaf driver is not supposed to drive.
Haha, this is a funny way to "cop out"! Imagine that they made a phone call to the police station and reported that they saw a Deaf person driving, they will feel like a fool!
I'm hearing and my hubby is Deaf. He is a much better driver than I am anyway because he's not fiddling with the radio or talking on his cell phone. (And he gives me an evil look when I try to do those things.)
